In contrast to monopolized oil, gas and coal supplies, Focus Fusion generators will be small and decentralized, with individual towns or city neighborhoods having their own generators. This will make it far easier to keep the price of fusion power close to its very low cost. In addition, decentralized power supplies will be more rapidly deployed in developing countries which lack established power grids, so it will allow Focus Fusion to make a global impact more rapidly. And of course decentralized generators will be far less vulnerable to large black-outs, saving the significant costs of power interruptions.
